4+5\left(6p+2\right)=24

4+5\left(6p+2\right)-4=24-4

5\left(6p+2\right)=20

\frac{5\left(6p+2\right)}{5}=\frac{20}{5}

6p+2=4

6p+2-2=4-2

6p=2
