Before you prepare a new raw animal food on a cutting board you must clean and sanitize the cutting board to prevent from cross-contamination

Further explanation

Contamination can occur when food incorrectly handled or cooked. People should follow food hygiene at all times to avoid food poisoning, It is including food preparation, storing, cooking and serving. Cross-contamination is the transfer of harmful bacteria between raw and cooked food. For example, after cutting raw chicken, you use the same chopping board to cut a tomato, bacteria from the raw chicken can spread to your chopping board, knife, and hands and then the tomato.

There are some ways to prevent cross-contamination: use one cutting board for fresh produce, and one for raw meat, poultry, or seafood. Use separate plates and utensils for cooked and raw foods. Clean and sanitize all food contact surfaces after each use and regularly. Always washing your hands properly after touching raw food, wearing gloves is not a substitute for hand wash. There are some guidelines on how to prevent cross-contamination when storing, preparing, and serving food.

People should be aware of food poisoning symptoms, which can start within hours of eating contaminated food. These symptoms include nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Most often, food poisoning is mild and resolves without treatment.
