Which two sentences use definition of this type of absurd?

absurd-extremely inappropriate
Vlad1618 [11]

Answer:

 • After receiving a scolding from the teacher, Frances took the absurd action of running out of the classroom.
 • Tom made an absurd request to go out at three o'clock in the morning.

Explanation:

According to a different source, these are the options that come with this question:

 • When Mischa is feeling blue, she likes to think about how absurd life can be sometimes.
 • Ralph finds his friend Selena's habit of only wearing pink clothes on Wednesdays completely absurd.
 • After receiving a scolding from the teacher, Frances took the absurd action of running out of the classroom.
 • Tom made an absurd request to go out at three o'clock in the morning.
 • It is absurd that Paul's dog tries to fetch the ball even when Paul only pretends to throw it.

These are the two sentences that use the word "absurd" in order to indicate something that is extremely inappropriate. In the first example, we learn that a student decided to run out of the classroom when she was scolded. This is a very inappropriate decision to make. In the second example, Tom wanted to go out at a time that most parents would consider extremely inappropriate.

Write the sentence that is the topic sentence of the paragraph.
topjm [15]

1. I believe the correct answer is: “A trip to the ocean can be a relaxing escape from the everyday pressures of life.”

Topic sentence is the sentence that summarizes the main idea of a paragraph, which is in this case a relaxing escape from pressure. The topic sentence is usually at the beginning of the paragraph (first sentence, or first and second), but can be found anywhere in the text.

2. I believe the correct answer is: “You should always be careful to avoid overexposure to the sun at the beach.”

In this paragraph the emphasis is on the escape from the pressure and stress of the everyday life, with given examples and explanation of how and why does relaxing on ocean helps. According to that, the last sentence can be easily eliminated, as it is advice of how to take care of your skin in the sun, not on how to relax.
