Answer:

I'm a bit confused with the question... it is worded weird.

Explanation:

By the looks of it the controlled variable is how far you dip the paper towel in the water, the independent variable is the bowl filled with water, and the dependent variable is the water climbing up the towel.

FYI: I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure these are correct for the most part. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

How are the hardy-weinberg principles used in the analysis of codis genotypes and other strp-locus comparisons?
lana66690 [7]
HWE is used with COIDS and non CODIS eligible DNA profiles to provide statistical caluclations for the rarity or uniqueness of profiles. Each STR kit test for a certian number of loci. Each lous has a set ladder of observed alleles. Each of these alleles has value for its observed frequency in a population. It is the rarity of each allele at each location that will give you the value for rarity of the profile as a whole. This rarity fo the profile is calucalted in CODIS under certian circumstances using to determine the eligibilty of a partial profile or a forensic mixture to determine its eligiblity for the different leves of the database.

Alenkasestr [34]

Development and Applications of a High Throughput Genotyping Tool for Polyploid Crops: Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) Array.

Polypoid species play significant roles in agriculture and food production. Many crop species are polyploid, such as potato, wheat, strawberry, and sugarcane.

Genotyping has been a daunting task for genetic studies of polyploid crops, which lags far behind the diploid crop species.

Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) array is considered to be one of, high-throughput, relatively cost-efficient and automated genotyping approaches.

However, there are significant challenges for SNP identification in complex, polyploid genomes, which has seriously slowed SNP discovery and array development in polyploid species.

Ploidy is a significant factor impacting SNP qualities and validation rates of SNP markers in SNP arrays, which has been proven to be a very important tool for genetic studies and molecular breeding.

This review presents a complete overview of SNP array development and applications in polypoid crops, which will benefit the research in molecular breeding and genetics of crops with complex genomes.

dexar [7]

Complete question:

Suppose "A" is a dominant gene for the ability to taste phenylthiocarbamide and "a" is a recessive gene for the inability to taste it. Which couples could possibly have both a child who tastes it and a child who does not?

a. father AA, mother aa

b. father Aa, mother AA

c. father Aa, mother Aa

d. father AA, mother AA

Answer:

c. father Aa, mother Aa

Explanation:

According to the given information, the ability to taste phenylthiocarbamide is a dominant trait and is imparted by the allele "A". This phenotype would be expressed in both homozygous and heterozygous conditions. The non-taster phenotype would be expressed in the homozygous recessive genotypes only.

To have both taster and non-taster children, both the parents should have at least one copy of the recessive allele. Among the given options, the father with genotype Aa and the mother with genotype Aa have the possibility to have both taster and non-taster children.

Aa x Aa= 3/4 taster (1/4 AA and 1/2 Aa): 1/4 non-taster (1/4 aa)
