Why was the Norwegian heavy water sabotage necessary, do you agree with the saboteurs' motives?
lapo4ka [179]
It was necessary to stop the Nazis being able to gain the deuterium oxide from hard water which could be used to create Nuclear weapons. I agree, as from what we seen how fast and destructive the force was against Japan. If the Nazis gained these weapons Britian would have defenitly been destroyed as well as Russia, meaning the only threat would be America who would be out numberd by a lot.

In what way were the 1988 elections that voted out the Chilean dictator Pinochet initially a failure?
Anastasy [175]

The correct answer is option B) "He defied the election results and stayed in power for two more years". The dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet on Chile extended from 1973 to 1990. The 1988 elections were initially a failure because it let Pinochet to stay in power even though he shouldn't by the Constitution. The 1988 Chilean national plebiscite was a national referendum that helped to put pressure on Pinochet, resulting in the end of his dictatorship in 1990.
