William Lloyd Garrison was born December 10, 1805 in Newburyport, Massachusetts. In 1830 he started an abolitionist paper, The Liberator. In 1832 he helped form the New England Antislavery Society. Great Depression was mostly experienced by most of the countries in the period of 1930. It had demoralizing effects on the economy by dropping levels of the Gross Domestic Product. The personal income, tax revenue had hit the lowest level in the nation.
Giving Over extension of loans by the banks in order to cope the depression was the erroneous federal policy at the time of depression. It also resulted in various other impacts such as people were unable to pay off the loans. This financial disruption made the banks to close.
This led to stocking of money by the people that resulted in the stagnation of the money flow and the loss of confidence to lend and borrow money. This also reduced the value of money causing disequilibrium in the economy.
<u>Thoughts I have as a free man:</u>
Years of oppression are over and finally I am a free man. For the first time in all these years in this country I feel optimistic about my future. I was forcibly taken away from my homeland at a very young age and brought to this country.
I have worked day and night on the fields of this country. Never was my work regarded or never was I treated with respect. Now I believe I will be treated with respect like every other American.
Now this is my home too. I believe I too am part of this land, the land where I have toiled for years. Now that slavery is abolished and we are granted citizenship I know that I as well as my future generations can live on this land as free people with dignity.
Approval of the articles was delayed by the conditions that various states placed. The prevailing arguments included the need for a stronger central government which became apparent as the weak federal government had no powers to raise revenue or raise an army. There was also the argument that such a step would result in tyranny

Courageously frank, she publicly supported Marian Anderson when in 1939 the black singer was denied use of the Washington Constitution Hall due to her race. Roosevelt ensured that Anderson would sing instead on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, creating a lasting and inspiring image of personal prowess and human rights.
