• Scheme refers to systematic planning or organization of something or an event.

 • Adults use schemes to organize their environment because everything in life requires planning. Adults plan their environment too just as schools plan the topics the students are taught. Adults plan their work life, shelter, relaxation time and so many other things.

Principle of assimilation and accommodation applies to adults too. We all learn everyday and learning doesn't stop until death.

 • Accommodation on the other hand, is the process of adjusting or adapting to the new knowledge.

For instance, when an adult attends an health seminar and he is told that taking sugar is dangerous to his health (knowledge), that is assimilation.

When the adult tries to adjust his diet to reduce sugar intake is accommodation.

Dennis_Churaev [7]
Our bodies are made to eat smaller portions through out the day rather than one portion during the entire day, this applies to vitamins aswell. Taking vitamins separately allows our body to break apart the vitamins but if large doses are taking it takes longer to break down and can cause stomach aches and other side effects.
