Read the following poem by Paul Laurence Dunbar and answer the question that follows.
emmasim [6.3K]

Answer: 2. He uses dialect to better connect the message to the intended audience.

Explanation: I want to say that it is answer 2.)!

This is a very emotional poem that I had to analyze last semester, the message of the poem is very important to the author and poem itself. Dialect is generally a kind of language that people speak in a certain region or part of the country. The word "Alas!" in the first line can be dialect, it is helping to add to the message of the poem, and simply helps express sorrow.

Anyways, I hope this helps!

What type of figurative language is the phrase "as strong as an ox"?
madam [21]

Answer:

A: simile.

Explanation:

A simile is a figure of speech that consists in making a comparison between elements that aren't obviously related, this comparison is made using the words "like" and "as." In the given phrase, we can see an example of a simile that is comparing the strength of something with the strength of an ox, using the word "as" to make the comparison. So the correct answer is option A: simile.

Do you think bullying is a serious issue i your school? give reasons to support your opinion
bearhunter [10]
Yes, I agree you have to look at your own school.

First, ask yourself: is there bullying in your school? (I can give you an example of my school: there wasn't)

Then ask youself: how can you know that there is? what have you seen? have you seen people crying, being beaten, being forced to do something they didn't want to?

And finally, look into the reasons - i can tell you that my school was so small that we all knew each other's parents, so noone would bully someone while knowing their paretns so close.

Helena says, “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind. And Therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.” How does this state
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

The quote means to fall in love with someone without caring about their looks. If you follow your heart instead of your eyes you can find true love. In the play the some of the characters fall in love based on how the other person looks but when they follow their heart instead falling for who's prettier they find their true love.

Let me know if this helps and good luck!
