As happened in many colonial territories, a Company ruled and administrated India. There were many injustices and that is why people incited an uprising. It was the Sepoy Rebellion in 1857. The British East Indian Company had its own institutions that were rejected by the rebellious people in India. The Army of Great Britain intervened to suffocate the Rebellion and was established the complete British colonization of India. People of India continued to demand its rights and Independence and they created the Indian National Congress.
