Using either the slope formula or rise/run, find the slope of the line

slope = m

m=\frac{rise}{run}

"rise" is the number of units you go up(+) or down(-) from each point   (y-axis)

"run" is the number of units you go to the right from each point    (x-axis)

Lines usually go from left to right, so the point furthest to the left will be the starting point, which is (1, -6). To get from point (1, -6) to (3, 2), you go up 8 units and to the right 2 units, so the slope is  \frac{8}{2}  which simplifies to 4

Slope formula:

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}   Plug in the two points to find the slope

(1, -6) = (x₁, y₁)

(3, 2) = (x₂, y₂)

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

m=\frac{2-(-6)}{3-1}   (two negative signs cancel each other out and become positive)

m=\frac{2+(6)}{3-1}

m=\frac{8}{2}

m = 4

Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of a sphere = ⁴/3πr³

1. r = ½ of 14.4 = 7.2 in.

Volume = ⁴/3 × π × 7.2³ = 1563.46 ≈ 1563.5 in.³

2. r = 6 yd

Volume = ⁴/3 × π × 6³ = 904.78 ≈ 904.8 yd³

3. r = 8 mm

Volume = ⁴/3 × π × 8³ = 2144.66 ≈ 2144.7 mm³

4. r = ½ of 13.5 = 6.75 cm

Volume = ⁴/3 × π × 6.75³ = 1288.25 ≈ 1288.3 cm³

5. r = 4.7 in.

Volume = ⁴/3 × π × 4.7³ = 434.89 ≈ 434.9 in.³ (nearest tenth)
