• Positives are BIGGER than 0

• Positives are ABOVE 0

• Negatives are BELOW 0

• Negatives are on the LEFT side of the number line (LEFT side of 0)

• Positives are on the RIGHT side of the number line (RIGHT side of 0)

ANSWERING the QUESTION

Ads Galore makes posters with standard dimensions of inches by 11 inches as shown.
larisa [96]
Poster standard dimension: 8.5 inches by 11 inches
Both length and width of the poster may vary 1/20%
∴ length and width may vary 1/20 % = 0.05% = 0.0005

∵ Area  = Width * Length
∴ Area = 8.5 * 11 = 93.5 in²

Smallest acceptable area for one poster:

Width: 8.5 * (1 - 0.0005) = 8.49575 in.
Length: 11 * (1 - 0.0005) = 10.9945 in.

∴ The smallest area = 8.49575 * 10.9945 = 93.4065 ≈ 93.407 in².

when Dallas committed to work one morning his average speed was 45 mph. On the return trip he average only 35 mph. Due to conges
defon

The required distance is 16.40 km.

This problem can be solved if we know the concept of speed, time and distance.

We know the speed=\frac{distance}{time}

To solve the problem let us assume that the total distance between the workplace and home is x km.

Given that his speed while going from home to work is 45 mph and while returning is 35 mph.

Time for the complete journey is \frac{5}{6}hr.

Now according to question;

   \frac{x}{45}+\frac{x}{35}=\frac{5}{6}

⇒\frac{7x+9x}{315}=\frac{5}{6}

⇒16x=\frac{5*315}{6}

⇒ x=\frac{5*315}{6*16}

∴ x=16.40\ km

So, the required distance is 16.40 km.

mart [117]

Answer:

x = \frac{1}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Distribute parenthesis on both sides of the equation.

3x - 3 - 4x - 2 = 8x - 8 ← simplify left side

- x - 5 = 8x - 8 ( subtract 8x from both sides )

- 9x - 5 = - 8 ( add 5 to both sides )

- 9x = - 3 ( divide both sides by - 9 )

x = \frac{-3}{-9} = \frac{3}{9} = \frac{1}{3}

Solve for e:(-7)=e/3+14? show your work
Semmy [17]
-7 = \frac{e}{3} + 14
take 14 to the other side
-7 -(14) = \frac{e}{3}
-21 = \frac{e}{3}
Multiply by 3 on either sides to isolate e and to find a value

-21 × 3 = \frac{e}{3} × 3
3 and 3 cancels out

-63 = e
