That's because Creon, when he became the king of Thebes, became an authoritarian and petty man, he was against divine law when he prohibited Polyneices from being buried by Antigone and even decreed her death when she disobeyed. In the face of Antigone's death, Euridice kills herself and that death falls on Creon as a divine punishment.
