This is a very broad question. It really depends on how far back in history you go. The early years of civilization was a major time for the development of tools and instruments that were quite primitive to assist with the tasks of every day life and as the years progressed, the technology became move advanced which made the daily life of man much easier. There have also been various times of peace and life man have been simple for common folks but throughout history there has always been various times of fighting and strife
