Mathematics

Answer:

Going horizontally,

Q1 a) x = 133°

Q1 b) x = 59°

Q1 c) x = 189°

Q1 d) x = 32°

Q1 e) x = 72°

Q1 f) x = 36°

Q2 a) x = 53°

Q2 b) x = 94°

Q2 c) x = 10°

Workings out:

To work out the interior angles, you need to know that angles on a straight line add up to 180°. In addition, you also need to know that angles around a point add up to 360°. When you need to find a missing angle, if the angle is on a line or in a triangle, take whatever value/values the angle/angles you have are and take it away from 180°. If the angle is around a point, (or in a square, where all angles are the same anyway) add however many values you have for the angles then take that away from 360°. Hope this helps! :)

George bought socks for "$"300 and planned to sell them for $6 a pair. write an inequality to find the minimum number of socks h
Anit [1.1K]

The inequality <u>6s - 300 > 210</u> represents the minimum number of socks (s) when George bought socks for "$"300 and planned to sell them for $6 a pair, and want to make a profit of more than 210.

In the question, we are given that George bought socks for $300.

Therefore, George's total cost = $300.

We assume the number of pairs of socks George sells to be s.

The unit price per pair quoted by George = $6

Therefore, George's total sales = $6s.

We know that the profit over a transaction is given as the difference between sales and costs, that is,

The profit = The total sales - the total costs,

or, profit = 6s - 300.

In the question, we are required to make a profit of more than 210.

This can be shown by the inequality,

6s - 300 > 210.

Thus, the inequality <u>6s - 300 > 210</u> represents the minimum number of socks (s) when George bought socks for "$"300 and planned to sell them for $6 a pair, and want to make a profit of more than 210.

The angle of depression from the top of a cruise ship to the top of a sailboat is 22. Sitting above water, the cruise ship is 23
dusya [7]

Answer:

The distance between the cruise ship and the sail boat is 517 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

The cruise ship is 236 feet tall, and the sailboat is 236 tall; this means the distance between the top of the cruise ship and the top of the sail boat is

236 feet - 27 feet = 209 feet.

We also know that the angel of depression from the top of the cruise ship to the bottom of the cruise ship is 22°. This forms a right triangle as shown in the figure attached.

Now from trigonometry we get:

tan \: \theta = \dfrac{209}{d}

d= \dfrac{209}{tan\:\theta }

\boxed{d=517ft}

The distance between the cruise ship and the sailboat is 517 feet.
