Point-slope form is
y - y1 = m(x - x1), where the (x1, y1) is one of the points.

First find the slope, which is change in y over change in x, or
m= \frac{x2-x1}{y2-y1}
The example points
(x1, y1) and (x2, y2) are now
( 3, 21 ) and ( 6, 12 ).
m= \frac{12-3}{6-21}= \frac{9}{-3}  = -3

Now plug the slope and one of the points into the formula
y - y1 = m(x - x1) \\
y - 12 = -3(x-6) \\

To write in slope-intercept form, y = mx + b, simply solve for y.
y - 12 =  -3x + 2 \\
y =  -3x + 30

Point Slope:
y-12=-3(x-6)

From there you can find the slope intercept form:

y-12=-3x+18
y=-3x+30

Women appear to marry about 3 years younger than men, but the two distributions are very similar in shape and spread.
Irina18 [472]

The brief report about what the attached data in the box plot shows that: "Women appear to marry around three years younger than males, although the shape and dispersion of the two distributions are extremely comparable."

<h3>What is a box plot?</h3>

A boxplot is a type of graph that shows how the values in the data are distributed.

A boxplot is a standardized technique of representing data distribution based on a five-number summary ("minimum", first quartile (Q1), median, third quartile (Q3), and "maximum").

It can provide information about your outliers and their values.

kotykmax [81]

Answer:

C or 260.48

Step-by-step explanation:

Find area of both triangles:

20*16/2/2*2=160

Find area of circle;

pi*r*r/2= area of circle

d/2=r

16/2=8

pi*8*8/2 is about 100.53

160+100.53=260.53

Using the graph as your guide, complete the following statement.
ollegr [7]

Answer:

positive

Step-by-step explanation:

the discriminant of the function is postive.

because from the graph we notice that it has 2 intercepts on x-axis, which means the function has 2 real solution when y=0

that implies the discriminant is positive.

\Delta = \sqrt{b^2-4ac}

if \Delta > 0 we have 2 distinct real solution

if \Delta we have no real solution but 2 complex solutions

if \Delta = 0 we have 2 identical real solution

A firefighter determines that 350 feet of hose is needed to reach a particular building. If the hoses are 60 feet in length, wha
Nady [450]

Answer:

  6 lengths

Step-by-step explanation:

You essentially want the smallest integer solution to ...

  60x ≥ 350

  x ≥ 350/60

  x ≥ 5 5/6

The smallest integer solution to this is x = 6.

The minimum number of lengths of hose needed is 6.

_____

Informally, you know that dividing the required total length by the length of one hose will tell you the number of required hoses. You also know the ratio 350/60 is equivalent to 35/6 and that this will be between 5 and 6. (5·6 = 30; 6·6 = 36) The next higher integer value will be 6.
