timofeeve [1]
A filibuster can be in place by a party, it's when a group of Senators take turns speaking. They can pass it on to other Senators, which no one can object do, and each Senator does not have a limited amount of time. They can even read from a phone book if they want to. While a Senator is talking, no one can interrupt the Senator. A vote can stop the filibuster and force a vote, called the cloture.

How did the iran hostage crisis affect american opinion of president carter?
madreJ [45]

The Iran hostage crisis affected negatively the American opinion of President Carter to the point that it probably cost him his second term as President of the United States. On November 4th, 1979, a group of Iranian students stormed the U.S Embassy in Teheran taking more than 60 Americans hostages. This action was a direct result of President Carter's decision of allowing the deposed Shah the possibility of getting medical treatment in the United States.

The students set their hostages free on April of 1981, 444 days after the crisis began and just hours before new elected President Reagan delivered his inaugural address.
