The aspect of visual processing that could explain his deficit is Blindsight

Visual processing is the way  the brain  translate  and process  visual input  of things around us.

Virtual cortex is a very important part of the human brain as it enables the processing of visual input or information to take place.

Blindsight occurs when a blind person who suffered damage to a part of their visual cortex can easily identify things around them despite been blind.

In a situation were a  portion of the  visual cortex is damaged which inturn  lead to blindness, the affected person brain can still <em>process</em> visual information.

The reason is  that the part of the brain that enables visual information or visual input to be transmitted  via the retina is not entirely damaged.

Inconclusion The aspect of visual processing that could explain his deficit is Blindsight.
