The main cause of shift from Paleolithic(Old Stone Age)to the Neolithic Age(New Stone Age) is that the temperatures were getting warmer, so now this shift was a great impact on the population.. Now people were able to be sedentary because of the warmer climates and make new civizilations, laws, and government structures.

In the medieval times, life for a merchant was very risky and dangerous. Although being a merchant had it's ups, a lot were killed just traveling from town to town. The roads were rough since no town wanted to spend money to fix them and the risk of being beaten up or having goods stolen by bandits was rougher! Many merchants worried about bandits killing them and stealing their goods! Hope that helps! :)
The answer is C. It made sure every state had the same representation no matter size and population.
