w/–3 + 14 = 5

⇛ w/–3 = 5 – 14

⇛ w/–3 = – 11

⇛ w = –11 × (–3)

⇛ w = 33

What is an equation of the line that passes through the point (3,-1) and (8, 9)?
Evgesh-ka [11]

Answer:

4) y = 2x - 7

Step-by-step explanation:

First we have to find the slope by using the following formula....

let (3, - 1) be (x_{1}, y_{1} ), let (8, 9) be (x_{2} ,y_{2} ), and m be the slope, then....

m = \frac{y_{2} -y_{1} }{x_{2} - x_{1} } = \frac{9 + 1}{8 - 3} = \frac{10}{5} = 2

Now that we know the slope we can find the equation of the function by using point-slope for of the function which look like this.....

y -y_{1} = m(x - x_{1} )\\y + 1 = 2(x - 3)\\y + 1 = 2x - 6\\y = 2x - 7

Find exact values for sin θ, cos θ and tan θ if csc θ = 3/2 and cos θ < 0.
kumpel [21]

Answer:

Part 1) sin(\theta)=\frac{2}{3}

Par 2) cos(\theta)=-\frac{\sqrt{5}}{3}

Part 3) tan(\theta)=-\frac{2\sqrt{5}}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1

Find the sin(\theta)

we have

csc(\theta)=\frac{3}{2}

Remember that

csc(\theta)=\frac{1}{sin(\theta)}

therefore

sin(\theta)=\frac{2}{3}

step 2

Find the cos(\theta)

we know that

sin^{2}(\theta) +cos^{2}(\theta)=1

we have

sin(\theta)=\frac{2}{3}

substitute

(\frac{2}{3})^{2} +cos^{2}(\theta)=1

\frac{4}{9} +cos^{2}(\theta)=1

cos^{2}(\theta)=1-\frac{4}{9}

cos^{2}(\theta)=\frac{5}{9}

square root both sides

cos(\theta)=\pm\frac{\sqrt{5}}{3}

we have that

cos(\theta) < 0 ---> given problem

so

cos(\theta)=-\frac{\sqrt{5}}{3}

step 3

Find the tan(\theta)

we know that

tan(\theta)=\frac{sin(\theta)}{cos(\theta)}

we have

sin(\theta)=\frac{2}{3}

cos(\theta)=-\frac{\sqrt{5}}{3}

substitute

tan(\theta)=\frac{2}{3}:-\frac{\sqrt{5}}{3}=-\frac{2}{\sqrt{5}}

Simplify

tan(\theta)=-\frac{2\sqrt{5}}{5}

Suppose you have rolled a six-sided die fifty times and recorded the result of each roll.
a_sh-v [17]

Using it's concept, it is found that the relative frequency  probability of rolling an even number based on this experiment is \frac{11}{25}.

A relative frequency is the <u>number of desired outcomes divided by the number of total outcomes</u>.

In this problem:

  • 50 dices are thrown, hence T = 50.
  • 22 resulted in an even number, hence D = 22

The <u>relative frequency</u> is given by:

f = \frac{D}{T} = \frac{22}{50} = \frac{11}{25}
