Introduced by Barnlund in 1970, the transactional model is the most recent of the three influential communication models over the the past 60 years. The model and description simplify the process in 2 ways: first, both illustration and description present a snapshot or static representation of what is actually a highly dynamic and flexible process with no obvious start or end point.
