Answer:

1. 2,300 units

2. $36,800

3. $39,200

Explanation:

The computation of company’s break-even point in unit sales is shown below:-

Break Even Point (Unit Sales) = Fixed Cost ÷ Contribution Margin Per Unit

= Fixed Cost ÷ (Sales Price Per Unit - Variable Expense Per Unit)

= $9,200 ÷ ($16 - $12)

= $9,200 ÷ $4

= 2,300 units

2. The computation of break-even point in dollar sales is shown below:-

Break Even Point (Dollar Sales) = Break Even Units × Selling Price Per Unit

= $2,300 × $16

= $36,800

Contribution Margin Ratio = (Sales Price Per Unit - Variable Expense Per Unit ) ÷ Sales Per Unit × 100)

= ($16 - $12) ÷ $16 × 100

= $4 ÷ $16 × 100

= 25%

Break Even Sales = Fixed Expenses ÷ Contribution Margin Ratio

= $9,200 ÷ 25%

= $36,800

3. The computation of new break-even point in unit sales is shown below:-

Break Even Point (Unit Sales) = Fixed Cost ÷ Contribution Margin Per Unit

= Fixed Cost ÷ (Sales Price Per Unit - Variable Expense Per Unit)

= ($9,200 + $600) ÷ ($16 - $12)

= $9,800 ÷ $4

= 2,450 units

Break Even Point (Dollar Sales) = Break Even Units × Selling Price Per Unit

= 2,450 units × $16

= $39,200

On January 1, Year 1, Willette Company sold $240,000 of 6% ten-year bonds. Interest is payable semiannually on June 30 and Decem
konstantin123 [22]

Answer: $9,009

Explanation:

To find the Effective Interest Rate, you should convert the stated interest rate into a semi-annual interest rate as that is when interest is payable.

Effective interest Rate = 10% Per annum

= 10/2

= 5%

5% is to be paid Semi-annaully.

Interest Expenses for the first 6 months is therefore,

= Issue Price * effective interest rate

= 180,181 * 5%

= $9,009

$9,009 is the amount of effective interest expense that should be recorded for the six months ended June 30, Year 1.

Hubert lives in San Francisco and runs a business that sells boats. In an average year, he receives $842,000 from selling boats.
aev [14]

Answer:

Explicit costs are normal costs of operating a business.

Implicit costs are opportunity costs meaning that they are the benefits foregone by engaging in a certain course of action.

The wholesale cost for the pianos that Hubert pays the manufacturer ⇒ EXPLICIT COST.

The salary Hubert could earn if he worked as an accountant ⇒ IMPLICIT COST.

The wages and utility bills that Hubert pays ⇒ EXPLICIT COST

The rental income Hubert could receive if he chose to rent out his showroom. ⇒ IMPLICIT COSTS

Accounting Profit = Revenue - Explicit costs

= 842,000 - 452,000 - 301,000

= $89,000

Economic Profit = Revenue - Explicit costs - Implicit costs

= 842,000 - 452,000 - 301,000 - 38,000 - 48,000

= $3,000

If Hubert's goal is to maximize his economic profit, he should stay in the piano business because the economic profit he would earn as an accountant would be -$3,000.

Economic profit as accountant = Salary + rental income - accounting profit from piano

= 48,000 + 38,000 - 89,000

= -$3,000

balu736 [363]

Answer:

The numbers are missing, so I looked for a similar question (see attached image).

 • the expected value for option A (modernize everything) = (0.5 x $90,000) + (0.5 x $25,000) = $57,500
 • the expected value for option B (modernize only second floor) = (0.4 x $80,000) + (0.6 x $70,000) = $74,000
 • the expected value for option C (do nothing) = (0.3 x $60,000) + (0.7 x $33,000) = $41,100

The option with the highest expected value is option B (modernize only second floor).

When you hire an independent contractor, you don't have to pay the contractor's
xxTIMURxx [149]

Answer:

The correct answer would be option A, Medicare Taxes.

Explanation:

It is quite common now a days to work with contractors to get help from them, either in the form of services or human resources, etc. The contractor provide the company what it wants according to the needs. For example if a company needs human resource for its customer service department, the contractor will provide them the employees according to the company's need. So when you hire the contractor for getting you employees, there is no need to pay the medicare taxes of the contractor. It is not the responsibility of the company to pay medical expenses of the contractor, rather its contractor's own responsibility to fulfill its medicare expenses.
