Triangle PQR is transformed to triangle P′Q′R′. Triangle PQR has vertices P(8, 0), Q(6, 2), and R(−2, −4). Triangle P′Q′R′ has vertices P′(4, 0), Q′(3, 1), and R′(−1, −2).

Plot triangles PQR and P′Q′R′ on your own coordinate grid.

Part A: What is the scale factor of the dilation that transforms triangle PQR to triangle P′Q′R′? Explain your answer. (4 points)

Part B: Write the coordinates of triangle P′′Q′′R′′ obtained after P′Q′R′ is reflected about the y-axis. (4 points)

Part C: Are the two triangles PQR and P′'Q′'R′' congruent? Explain your answer.

Answer:

Transformation include reflecting and dilating of points

The scale factor from PQR to P'Q'R' is 1/4

The coordinates of P"Q"R" are P"=(-1,0) Q"=(0,-1)  R"=(2,-1)           .

PQR and P′'Q′'R′' are not congruent

The points are given as:

p=(4,0)

q=(0,-4)

r=(-8,-4)

p'=(1,0)

q'=(0-1)

r'=(-2,-1)

(a)The scale factor from PQR to P'Q'R

To do this, we make use of corresponding sides QR and Q'R

So, the scale factor (k) is:

k=q'r'/qr

k=2/8

k=1/4

(b) The coordinates of P"Q"R from reflecting P'Q'R' about the y-axis

The rule of this transformation is:

(x,y)--------(-x,y)

So, we have:

p"=(-1,0)

q"=(0,-1)

r"=(2,-1)

(c) Are triangle PQR and P"Q'R" congruent?

No they are not

This is so because

PQR was dilated by 1/4 to get P'Q'R

P'Q'R' and P"Q"R" are congruent

Hence,  PQR and P′'Q′'R′' are not congruent

Which is a factor of 144 − 49x2? 12 - 7x2 72 – 7x2 12 – 7x 72 + 7x
Elena-2011 [213]

For this case we have the following expression:

144 - 49x ^ 2

We can rewrite the expression by factoring

Rewriting the expression we have:

- (7x-12) (7x + 12)

Then, using the distributive property for the negative sign we have:

(12-7x) (7x + 12)

Thus, we have that one of the factors of the given expression is:

12-7x

Answer:

A factor of the given expression is:

12-7x

option 3

Find the areas of the sectors formed by < DFE. Round to the nearest hundredth
Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer:

<h2>The area of <u>the orange sector</u> is 10.47 square feet, approximately.</h2><h2>The area of <u>the blue sector </u>is 39.77 square feet, approximately.</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that \angle DFE = 75\°.

Now, the area of a circular sector can be found with the formula

Sector =\pi r^{2} \times \frac{\theta}{360\°}

In this case, \theta = 75\° and r=4 ft.

Replacing the angle and the radius, we have

S_{orange}=3.14(4)^{2}  \times \frac{75}{360}= 10.47 ft^{2}

Therefore, the area of the orange sector is 10.47 square feet, approximately.

Now, the blue sector has a central angle of 360-75 = 285\°. So, its area is

S_{blue}=3.14(4)^{2} \times \frac{285}{360} \approx 39.77ft^{2}

Therefore, the area of the blue sector is 39.77 square feet, approximately.

What is y=3(2x+1)+5<br><br> work need to be shown
jonny [76]

Answer:

In slope intercept form, this equation is y = 6x + 8

Step-by-step explanation:

All you need to do to get this to slope intercept form is to distribute the term and then combine like terms.

y = 3(2x + 1) + 5 ----> Distribute

y = 6x + 3 + 5 ----> Combine like terms

y = 6x + 8
