if you were to watch an individual neurotransmitter molecule just after it was released what would happen to it

Neurotransmitter leaves the presynaptic cell by exocytosis. It is released in the synaptic space, and moves to the postsynaptic membrane to meet its receptor. When binding occurs, it triggers a response in the new cell.

-----------------------------------------

Every neuron forms connections with another cell.

When a presynaptic cell sends information, a neurotransmitter is released.

After the exocytosis event, this chemical substance travels through the synaptic space forward to the other cell. Once there, it binds to its receptors in the postsynaptic membrane.

When the joining occurs, the receptor acquires a channel shape. This change allows the ion transference that will make possible the modification of the action potential.

This binding produces the excitatory postsynaptic potential -depolarization-.

A new action potential initiates in the postsynaptic cell and spreads to the rest of the membrane, depolarizing it.

If the communication between cells needs to stop, the neurotransmitter will be taken out from the synaptic space instead of binding to its receptor.

There are two mechanisms by which the neurotransmitter can be eliminated: by deactivation or reuptake.

Which of the following is an accurate definition of carrying capacity?
Zinaida [17]

Answer: B. The number of individuals that a habitat can sustain with the resources that it has available.

Explanation:

A carrying capacity is the number of individuals of the population belonging to a particular species that an habitat or region or ecosystem can support or sustain in terms of providing the resources. If the population exceeds over the carrying capacity then this results in decline in members of the population.

According to the above description the accurate definition of carrying capacity is B.

Explain the stages of tissue repair and fill in the blanks.
svp [43]

Answer:

a. Following an injury that breaks the surface of the skin. blood vessels dilate as a result of histamine release from mast cells and other damaged cells.

b. The blood forms a clot and upon drying, a scab forms a barriers between the body and the environment, while phagocytes work to clear the underlying debris from the wound site.

c. Blood vessels begin to re-grow into the wound while fibroblasts begin process of replacing the blood clot with Collagen

d. The remodeling phase then occurs as fibrosis and regeneration of tissues may continue for prolonged period of time.

Explanation:

Hello. Although you did not have all the answer options for the blanks presented in the sentences above, it is possible to conclude that the words in bold are the most appropriate to fill these spaces.

That's because when we cut ourselves, the blood vessels on the surface of our skin rapidly dilate, allowing a flow of blood to be observed. This dilation is accomplished by the release of histamine, which is released by mast cells, which are glands that regulate the immune response. At this point, it is important that any impuzera or microorganism, close to the wound site, is removed and this site undergoes cleaning. This is done by phagocytes, which are intended to prevent the cut from becoming the entrance to a bacterial infection.

Then the blood vessels begin to move and grow again across the wound, with the aim of covering this opening. In this comment, fibroblasts begin to apply collagen and replace the blood clot formed to prevent blood loss. Collagen will be responsible for maintaining the skin and tissues that will be rebuilt in the remodeling phase.

The atomic mass of an element is equal to the:
arlik [135]

The answer should be the third option "number of protons and neutrons." The atomic mass of a element is equal to the amount of protons, and neutrons added together in that element. So for example if we are trying to find the atomic mass of hydrogen you would add the total amount of protons and neutrons together to find it's mass although it doesn't equal the exact amount of it's mass but it's close.

Hope this helps.
