Livestock producers and breeders rank livestock on their ability to produce high quality, efficient breeding animals and market-worthy offspring.

To be able to effectively evaluate breeding and market animals is of vital economic importance for the animal markets. The same traits used to evaluate high-grade slaughter animals are also important in the grading of breeding stock.

When we judge livestock we classify them as:

 • Superior livestock
 • Average livestock
 • Inferior livestock

We are looking for the most desirable traits to fit our particular market and genetic needs. The "Livestock Judging Manual" indicates that some of the most prevalent traits necessary to score a better rating are:

 • Live weight
 • Fat depth
 • Muscling

and many more. The most important of which is muscling given that an animal with more muscle will produce more desirable meat for the average consumer, and therefore can be sold at higher prices.

Why do we add detergent to the strawberries? Group of answer choices To dissolve proteins that are found on the DNA molecule and
alukav5142 [94]

Answer:

The correct answer is - To dissolve the cell and nuclear membranes and release the DNA.

Explanation:

The major function of the detergent in DNA extraction is to dissolve the cell and cellular membranes. It can increase the membrane permeability by pulling apart lipids and proteins that are components of the nuclear and cellular membrane and lyse the cell, from which we want to extract the DNA.

Detergents cause pores in the cell membranes and once these membranes are completely lysed the DNA is released from the cell. It is similar to detergents removes fat (lipids) from dishes.

What are possible negative effects of building a hydropower dam? Select the two correct answers.
MrMuchimi

The correct answers are B; Displacement of people living near the proposed dam and C; Lower river water levels in other areas.

Further Explanation:

The hydropower dam uses water instead of coal to generate electricity. Since they are build on the water, they will be using that source as a way to generate electricity. This will cause the water levels to be lower in some areas along the river.

When building a dam, they will need to use property that is located on the river. Many people own homes along the river banks all over the world. The company who will be building the dam will usually buy out the property owners at a fair market price. This will mean that they will have to move and leave their homes. The homes are typically torn down to make way for the dam.

In some instances, the water bills for the people in the area may be raised also since so much water is being used by the hydropower dam.
