The importance of the boy Jonny speaking up is that in order for society to cooperate as the people want, they must speak out when they think its wrong, even if its not the normal thing to do. These action where shown time and time again during The Holocaust. The people were kept quiet on what was going on inside the camps and they believed all that happened was justified because the government told them it was. The children at the time grew up with them not knowing what was really going on but just accepted it and I've seen some sad videos about them finding out what really happened, and it's truly heart wrenching.
