Answer:

Peasants were either free or unfree, with the latter category known as serfs or villeins. Without much property of their own, the serfs gave up their freedom of movement and their labour in exchange for the benefits of life on the estate of a landowner.

1. Was George Pullman’s model town for his workers a good or a bad idea? Why?
Leni [432]

Answer:At the time of the strike, 35 percent of Pullman’s workforce was represented by the American Railway Union (ARU), which had led a successful strike against the Great Northern Railway Company in April 1894. Although the ARU was not technically involved in the Pullman workers’ decision to strike, union officials had been in Pullman and at the meeting at which the strike vote was taken, and Pullman workers undoubtedly believed that the ARU would back them. When the ARU gathered in Chicago in June for its first annual convention, the Pullman strike was an issue on the delegates’ minds.

How do Senate Republicans attempt to address concerns over the Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations without rejecting
Arlecino [84]

Answer:

The Senate Republicans rejected certain provisions of the Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations.

Explanation:

 • When President Wilson proposed for the Treaty of Versailles and an international organization which he believed would govern international relations and interactions, it was rejected by the the allied forces as well by the Senate Republicans.
 • The Republican Senate leader, Henry Cobot Lodge was very skeptical about Wilson's proposal for the treaty. The Senate Republicans were against certain provisions of the treaty which they believed would hamper U.S's interest in world politics and economy.
 • Lodge, therefore, proposed for certain reservations or exemptions and amendments in the provisions in the treaty which would enhance U.S's interest in the world politics.
 • Wilson's failure to address Lodge's proposals in the treaty led Senate Republicans to vote against the treaty and consequently U.S failed to join the League of Nations.
