At a certain time, the length of a rectangle is 5 feet and its width is 3 feet. At that same moment, the length is decreasing at

0.5 feet per second and the widthis increasing at 0.4 feet per second.
What is the length of the diagonal at that time?
How fast is the length of the diagonal changing? Is this length increasing or decreasing?

The diagonal is the hypotenuse of a 5 by 3 triangle.
d = (L^2 + W^2)^.5 = SQRT(34) or 34^.5
Taking the derivative of d:
d' = (1/2)(2LL' + 2WW')(L^2 + W^2)^(-.5)
Solving for d' given the L=5, L'=-.5, W=3, W'=+.4
yields d is decreasing at a rate of -2229 feet/sec.

Check the picture below

\bf r^2=x^2+y^2\implies 2r\cfrac{dr}{dt}=2x\cfrac{dx}{dt}+2y\cfrac{dy}{dt}\implies \cfrac{dr}{dt}=\cfrac{x\frac{dx}{dt}+y\frac{dt}{dt}}{r}
\\\\\\
\cfrac{dr}{dt}=\cfrac{(5\cdot -0.5)+(3\cdot 0.4)}{\sqrt{34}}

if it's a negative value, thus a negative rate, thus is decreasing, if it is a positive value, then increasing.

What is the relationship among proportional relationships lines, rates of change, and slope?
sdas [7]
<span><span>
It introduces the relationship between two variables and is called correlation. Proportionality or variation is state of relationship or correlation between two variables It has two types: </span>direct variation or proportion which states both variables are positively correlation. It is when both the variables increase or decrease together. On the contrary, indirect variation or proportion indicates negative relationship or correlation. Elaborately, the opposite of what happens to direct variation. One increases with the other variables, you got it, decreases. This correlations are important to consider because you can determine and identify how two variables relates with one another. Notice x = y (direct), y=1/x (indirect)</span>

Answer:

D. 1800°

Step-by-step explanation:

The given polygon has 12 sides.

The formula for finding the sum of the interior angles of an n-sided polygon is given as, ( n − 2 ) × 180.

Where n is the number of sides of the polygon.

Thus, the sum of the interior angles of the 12 sided polygon given above is:

(12 - 2) × 180

= 10 × 180 = 1800°

<em>Sum of the measures of the interior angles of the 12-sided polygon is D. 1800°</em>

Answer:

for the third one 2/5 for the fourth one 3/5

Step-by-step explanation:

For the first one, I put 10/25 as a fraction and found the least common multiple, which is 5. I then simplified, and got 2/5.

For the second one, I chose 3/5 because there are 3 friends whose names end in a, and 5 friends whose names do not end in a. My theory was that I took the friends and divided them into 2 groups by most common.

hope this helps if it doesn't I will correct myself :)
