Brrunno [24]

Explanation:

A) Mary Chesnut is starting to write her diary on November 8, 1860 when she found of that Abraham Lincoln is elected for the president of United States. She was on the train and that was the moment when she decided that she will write about everything that is happening around her. Those events were Abraham Lincoln election, the South’s secession from the Union, Civil War.

B) The diary is giving us reveal of the daily life back then including finances, race, struggles, and sacrifices. She was fighting trough the diary to come to terms with the things that was very important back them and all of them were wanting it. That thing was freedom. She met many people during her lifetime, those were famous people, people who survived the war and people who are having many secrets.

C) For me, the most surprising thing is that she recorded her impressions during the five years. Also, I found surprising that she wanted to describe and represent all secrets and events that she found out from other people and I think that that is really brave.
