The economical crisis before the French Revolution was a result of the Seven years war (French and Indian war depending on where you live) and the American Revolution when France lended money and their military forces but the U.S couldn’t pay off the debts at the time.

In Nicaragua, the military was used to stage a political coup (overthrow) so bring in a pro-US government. This angered many in Nicaragua as well as surrounding countries. There was fear the US would continue imperial control, manipulating the newly formed governments in Latin America.
