How the soldiers living in the trenches live with the dead
IgorLugansk [536]
They lived in terrible conditions. They had limited food supplies and when they did get food it was usually canned. There was a lot of casualties in the trenches for 'Trench Foot'. This was caused because of the weather conditions they were living in i.e mud and rain. There was huge rats running about (the size of cats). This was because they were feeding off dead bodies, as you can imagine this would have effected the soldiers mental health watching rats feed off their friends dead bodies

Why did so many Irish immigrants come to the united states between the 1840's and 1860's?
Morgarella [4.7K]

ANSWER:  In the mid-1840s, the size and nature of Irish immigration changed drastically. The potato blight which destroyed the staple of the Irish diet produced famine. Hundreds of thousands of peasants were driven from their cottages and forced to emigrate -- most often to North America.

Explanation: Pushed out of Ireland by religious conflicts, lack of political autonomy and dire economic conditions, these immigrants, who were often called "Scotch-Irish," were pulled to America by the promise of land ownership and greater religious freedom. Many Scotch-Irish immigrants were educated, skilled workers.

What consequences did Anne Hutchinson and Roger Williams suffer after speaking out against the beliefs of the Puritan church?
Dmitry [639]

Answer:

A). They were asked to leave the church and the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

Explanation:

Anne Hutchinson and Roger Williams were courageous Puritans who dared to disagree with the religious concepts preached in Massachusetts Bay Colony, a strictly Puritan region.

Anne Hutchinson disagreed that her behavior could change the destiny that God had prepared for her. While Roger Williams, he disagreed with the union between church and state, religious intolerance and the theft of indigenous lands.

The Puritans saw the two as major threats and wasted no time in banning them (Anne was arrested before the ban). As a result Williams bought land from the natives and formed the Rhode Island colony. Subsequently, Hutchinson joined this colony.

What is divine right?
Rama09 [41]
Absolute monarchs were rulers with complete authority over the government and lives of the people he or she governs. During the Age of Absolutism, powerful new dynasties emerged such as the Hapsburgs in Spain and the Bourbons in France. Furthermore, both these families highly believed in the idea of divine right where their authority to rule came directly from God.

So, divine right is the idea where a monarch's ruling power or authority comes from God.
