When do you use comas and please give an example
Arturiano [62]
1.You use commas to separate three or more things...for example: I like apples, oranges, and bananas.
2. To separate adjectives. She is a beautiful, smart woman.
3. use a comma before coordinating conjunction (and, but, for, or,etc.) Ex. I was going to to the library, but i changed my mind.
4. Use comma after introductory adverbs. (First, last, next)

Her irritation was an anthill overflowing with ants. Which poetic device does this sentence use?
lys-0071 [83]
The poetic device this sentence is using is metaphor.
Metaphor is a rhetorical figure of speech which you use when you want to compare two or more things, without using words such as like or as. So, her irritation wasn't really an anthill overflowing with ants, but rather similar to it, but the author wanted to use a symbolic way to portray this comparison.
