Which event from “The First Seven Years” is an example of falling action?
Jet001 [13]
<span>Falling action is the part of a plot that comes right after the climax, which means that the main conflict of the story is already resolved. According to this definition, the falling action of “The First Seven Years” is shown here: Feld asks Sobel to wait before proposing to Miriam. Options A and C are events of climax, and the third one is a result of it.<span>

Select the correct answer.
Sloan [31]

Answer:

The word "protracted" means lasting longer than expected, or unusually long, so what protracted most clearly means based on the context of the excerpt is how the time period of celestial motion studies must have lasted unusually long.

Can anyone translate this stanza for me? - The Republican Genius of Europe by Philip Freneau
Elenna [48]

Answer:

it's already completed, but here's the whole poem:

Explanation:

The Republican Genius of Europe

Emporers and kings! in vain you strive

Your torments to conceal--

The age is come that shakes your thrones,

Tramples in dust despotic crowns,

And bids the sceptre fail.

In western worlds the flame began:

From thence to France it flew--

Through Europe, now, it takes its way,

Beams an insufferable day,

And lays all tyrants low.

Genius of France! pursue the chase

Till Reason’s laws restore

Man to be Man, in every clime;--

That Being, active, great, sublime

Debas’d in dust no more.

In dreadful pomp he takes his way

O’er ruin’d crowns, demolish’d thrones--

Pale tyrants shrink before his blaze--

Round him terrific lightenings play--

With eyes of fire, he looks then through,

Crushes the vile despotic crew,

And Pride in ruin lays.
