What is the difference between motif and archetype
anygoal [31]
An archetype is described as a recurring symbol, theme, character, or setting in multiple works. It's something that's appeared in literature so often that it's very recognizable. For example, an archetypical theme is "love conquers all." Where have we *not* seen that before? An archetypical plot structure is the infamous love triangle.

A motif, though, is a recurring contrast, structure, or literary device that comes back in different forms. In Lord of the Flies, the beasties are symbols which are used as motifs which represent fear, but it comes in different forms.

PLEASE HELP How is a satire different from a fable?
QveST [7]
A fable is typically a story with animals instead of people, it illustrates a moral point. EX the tortoise and the hare. Satire is where human behavior is shamed or mocked until improved. EX political cartoons.

Mary had a little lamb whose fleece was white as snow.
Yanka [14]
I think the correct answer from the choices listed above is option D. The figure of speech being used here is a simile. The use of the word "as" shows that a simile is being used to compare the quality of the fleece to snow. Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.
