Answer:

Hence option b is correct.

( b. y = (2/3)x-3)

Step-by-step explanation:

Muriel says she has written a system of two linear equations that has an infinite number of solutions.

The first equation is given as:

3y= 2x -9.

This equation could also be written as:

y=(2/3)x-3

since we divide both side of the equation by 3.

" The system of equation is said to have infinite solution if both the equations represents the same line "

Hence, option b is correct.

( b. y = (2/3)x-3 )

Also sorry for the late response.

Please help. How do you find cosine, sine, cosecant and secant with this triangle?
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Hi there! You have to remember these 6 basic Trigonometric Ratios which are:

  • sine (sin) = opposite/hypotenuse
  • cosine (cos) = adjacent/hypotenuse
  • tangent (tan) = opposite/adjacent
  • cosecant (cosec/csc) = hypotenuse/opposite
  • secant (sec) = hypotenuse/adjacent
  • cotangent (cot) = adjacent/opposite
  • cosecant is the reciprocal of sine
  • secant is the reciprocal of cosine
  • cotangent is the reciprocal of tangent

Back to the question. Assuming that the question asks you to find the cosine, sine, cosecant and secant of angle theta.

What we have now are:

  • Trigonometric Ratio
  • Adjacent = 12
  • Opposite = 10

Looks like we are missing the hypotenuse. Do you remember the Pythagorean Theorem? Recall it!

  • a²+b² = c²

Define that c-term is the hypotenuse. a-term and b-term can be defined as adjacent or opposite

Since we know the value of adjacent and opposite, we can use the formula to find the hypotenuse.

  • 10²+12² = c²
  • 100+144 = c²
  • 244 = c²

Thus, the hypotenuse is:

\large \boxed{c = 2 \sqrt{61} }

Now that we know all lengths of the triangle, we can find the ratio. Recall Trigonometric Ratio above! Therefore, the answers are:

  • cosine (cosθ) = adjacent/hypotenuse = 12/(2√61) = 6/√61 = <u>(6√61) / 61</u>
  • sine (sinθ) = opposite/hypotenuse = 10/(2√61) = 5/√61 = <u>(5√61) / 61</u>
  • cosecant (cscθ) is reciprocal of sine (sinθ). Hence, cscθ = (2√61/10) = <u>√61/5</u>
  • secant (secθ) is reciprocal of cosine (cosθ). Hence, secθ = (2√61)/12 = <u>√</u><u>61</u><u>/</u><u>6</u>

Questions can be asked through comment.

Furthermore, we can use Trigonometric Identity to find the hypotenuse instead of Pythagorean Theorem.

Hope this helps, and Happy Learning! :)

What happens to the energy not output by a machine
Sveta_85 [38]

Answer:

By using the energy conservation law, the input energy must be equivalent to the output energy.  If you measured output energy is lower than your input energy, you have lost that difference of energy either in mechanical inefficiency (friction, heat, etc.) or an energy sink.

Thus, the energy not output by the machine is lost in the process within the machine.

Cheers.

Can someone help me, I don’t get this
dmitriy555 [2]

I'll break it down for you. Here are the main points:

-has 2 large servings

-made from 9 pints

-x represents how many pints

-y represents how many servings

Now that we know this we can find what each serving comes out to be for example:

\frac{9}{2\\}=4.5 or 4\frac{1}{2}

So for each serving it will come out to be 4.5 pints.

Now that we know this we can figure out the slope to find what the equation which is for example the slope for this equation would be rise over run for example:

\frac{rise}{run}=\frac{1}{4.5}=\frac{2}{9}when simplified.

So our equation would be (also the answer) y=\frac{2}{9}x

Hope this helps my dude ^^ If you have more questions go ahead and ask.
