When leaf is boiled what happens to the internal structure of plant cells?

Biology
1 answer:

Answer:

After boiling the cell would have lost its water (dehydrated). It appears like a deflated balloon. Now it needs water to regain its original form or swell. When it is placed in hypotonic med. the water from the medium enters into the cell .Hence it regains its size. The process occurred here is called “endosmosis”. This is due to a concentration gradient of water between the medium and the cell. Excess water enters into the cell which has less water or say no water at all.

Endangered species with very small populations are especially at risk of loss of genetic diversity due to?
Scorpion4ik [409]

Endangered species with very small populations are especially at risk of loss of genetic diversity due to option(d) i.e, genetic drift.

A species that is threatened with extinction in the near future, either globally or within a certain political jurisdiction, is known as an endangered species. Invasive species, habitat degradation, poaching, and other issues may put endangered animals in danger.

Genetic drift is the arbitrary change in the frequency of a gene variant in a population. Gene variations may totally vanish due to genetic drift, which would limit genetic diversity. Additionally, it has the potential to make previously uncommon alleles far more common and even fixed. Drift lowers genetic diversity in populations, which may limit a population's capacity to adapt to new selective pressures. In smaller populations, genetic drift is more pronounced and has more severe consequences. Particularly in the case of rare and endangered species, this effect is significant.

The complete question is:

Endangered species with very small populations are especially at risk of loss of genetic diversity due to:

immigration.

mutation.

natural selection.

genetic drift.

Recall Mendel's pea plants:the allele for purple flowers, P, is dominant to the allele for white flowers, p. Avery large number
Vadim26 [7]

Answer:

PP x PP; PP x Pp; PP x pp

Explanation:

Since the allele for purple flowers, P, is dominant, in order to be possible for all the offspring to have purple flowers, at least one of the parents must have the homozygous dominant genotype PP.

If one of the parents has a homozygous dominant genotype, all of the offspring will have purple flowers regardless of the other parent's genotype since one allele P will be passed down. Therefore, all of the possible genotype combinations are:

PP x PP; PP x Pp; PP x pp
