The panic “The Runaway Scrape” stemmed the Mexican victory of Alamo. After the Mexican victory over the Texan and settlers got terrified and ran back to United States. The whole scenario took place after the battle of Alamo which is also an important event of the “Texas revolution”.  

Battle of Alamo fought in 1836 was fought amid Mexico and Texas. The Mexican troops retrieved the Alamo mission nearby San Antonio by killing Texan troops and immigrants. The cruelty that the Texan faced during Santa Anna annexation after the battle inspired them to join the militia and take their revenge. Historians believed that 600 soldiers were killed in the combat and numerous were guided to Gonzales to feast the news of Texas defeat. The news of defeat created panic in Texas and resulted in flees of settlers, Texans and other immigrants. Even the Republic government of Texas fled to the United States.

The panic term for the panic that resulted in Texas once the word of Mexican victory at the Alamo spread was called “The Runaway Scrape”. When the news of the Mexican victory spread, terrified settlers and Texan soldiers ran away to the United States. This is known as “The Runaway Scrape” since people evacuated the place and moved to a secure location.  

This battle of the Alamo between Mexican army and Texan army occurred in February 1836 and is considered to be a mayor event for the Texan Revolution.
