A small theater sold 72 tickets for a play. The ratio of adult tickets to child tickets was 4:1. The ratio of adult tickets to s
Y_Kistochka [10]

Answer:

Adult 36

Children 9

senior 27

Step-by-step explanation:

We have 3 types of tickets as seen from the question;

Adult, children and seniors tickets.

Now, looking at the question critically,

Since the ratio of adults to children and senior citizens stands at 4: a specific value, we can then conclude that the ratio of tickets sold is 4:1:3

where 1 and 3 represents the ratio for the children and seniors respectively

So let’s calculate the individual ratio now.

For the total, we have 4 + 1 + 3 = 8

Thus, for the adults, we have 4/8 * 72 = 36

For the children, we have 1/8 * 72 = 9

For the seniors, we have 3/8 * 72 = 27

35. In a simple random sample of 25 high school students, the sample mean of the SAT scores was 1450, and the sample variance wa
Tatiana [17]

Answer:

1450-2.0\frac{30}{\sqrt{25}}=1450-12

1450+2.0\frac{30}{\sqrt{25}}=1450+12

And the best option would be:

c. 1450 +/- 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Information provided

\bar X=1450 represent the sample mean for the SAT scores

\mu population mean (variable of interest)

s^2 = 900 represent the sample variance given

n=25 represent the sample size

Solution

The confidence interval for the true mean is given by :

\bar X \pm z_{\alpha/2}\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}   (1)

The sample deviation would be s=\sqrt{900}= 30

The degrees of freedom are given by:

df=n-1=2-25=24

The Confidence is 0.954 or 95.4%, the value of \alpha=0.046 and \alpha/2 =0.023, assuming that we can use the normal distribution in order to find the quantile the critical value would be z_{\alpha/2} \approx 2.0

The confidence interval would be

1450-2.0\frac{30}{\sqrt{25}}=1450-12

1450+2.0\frac{30}{\sqrt{25}}=1450+12

And the best option would be:

c. 1450 +/- 12

Can someone explain how to solve this and the solution? Please and thank you :)
Verizon [17]
25 > 2x + 8 - 66

first simplify all numbers

25 > 2x + (8  - 66)
25 > 2x - 58

Then add 58 to both sides

25 (+58) > 2x - 58 (+58)
83 > 2x

Finally divide 2 from both sides to isolate the x

83/2 > 2x/2

41.5 > x

hope this helps
