In your own words, interpret what 33% of all goods and property are owned by 1% of the
Radda [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

It means that there must be a huge number of people that have little or nothing.

The most recent estimate of America's population is 331,000,000 roughly

1% of the population is 331,000,000 * 1/100 = 3,310,000

So that means that 3 million people own 33% of 14 trillion in property alone. These numbers are really hard to imagine.

1 trillion has 12 zeros behind it

so 14 trillion has 12 zeros behind it.

3 million people own 1,400.000,000 = 14 000 000 000 000 dollars worth of property.

That means that each person in that group of 3 million is 1 of 14 , 000, 000 in wealth just in property alone. The goods will dilute this somewhat, but I think you get the idea.

3 million people in the United States are multimillionaires, if they own 100% of the property. Of course that isn't true, but I think it's fair to say that they are not poor either.

How much should you pay for a share of stock that offers a constant growth rate of 13%, requires a 18% rate of return, and is ex
marin [14]

Answer:

$44.25

Explanation:

<u>procedure 1:</u>

we can determine the present value of the stock using the following formula:

present value = future value / (1 + constant growth rate)ⁿ

  • future value = $50
  • constant growth rate = 13%
  • n = 1

present value = $50 / (1 + 13%) = $50 / 1.13 = $44.25

<u>procedure 2 (optional):</u>

future value = future dividend / (required rate of return - constant growth rate)

$50 = future dividend / (18% - 13%)

future dividend = $50 x 5% = $2.50

now we must determine the dividend for the current year:

current dividend = future dividend / (1 + constant growth rate)

current dividend = $2.50 / (1 + 13%) = $2.50 / 1.13 = $2.21

now we apply the Gordon growth model:

present value = dividend / (required rate of return - constant growth rate)

present value = $2.21 / (18% - 13%) = $2.21 / 5% = $44.25

The Company is in the process of evaluating a new product using the following information: ∙ A new transformer has three product
Bad White [126]

Answer:

total loss for first year = ($96,000)

Explanation:

direct costs per 5,000 transformers = $55,000, or $11 per unit

indirect manufacturing overhead per 5,000 transformers = $45,000 or $9 per unit

destination charges per transformer = $2 each

customer service expenses = $0.40 per transformer

sales price:

year 1 = $20 x 15,000 = $300,000

year 2 = $24 x 15,000 = $360,000

year 3 = $28 x 15,000 = $420,000

total revenue = $1,080,000

total costs:

development costs = $45,000

setup costs = $15,000 x 3 per year x 3 years = $135,000

direct costs = $11 x 45,000 units = $495,000

manufacturing overhead costs = $9 x 45,000 = $405,000

sales and administrative costs = $2.40 x 45,000 = $108,000

total = $1,188,000

total operating life cycle loss = $1,080,000 - $1,188,000 = -$108,000

life cycle operating loss for first year:

total revenue = $300,000

- setup costs = $45,000

- direct costs = $165,000

- manufacturing overhead costs = $135,000

- S&A costs = $36,000

- 1/3 of development costs = $15,000

total loss = -$96,000

If your budget allowed you extra money for this month, would you choose to consume, invest, or save that money? Why? Be specific
ruslelena [56]
Personally, I would choose to save that money. The reason why is you never know - maybe something bad is going to happen and you will need that extra cash. So instead of splurging it on material things, it's better to save it for a rainy day, in my opinion. Investing is not safe, given that you may lose a lot more than you invest.
