A cylinder has a radius of 6 inches and is 15 inches tall. what is the volume of the cylinder? express the answer in terms of pi
Vikki [24]

The volume of a cylinder that has a radius of 6 inches and is 15 inches tall is 540 π cubic inches

<h3>How to calculate the volume of a cylinder?</h3>

The formula for calculating the volume of cylinder is expressed as:

V = πr²h

where

r is the radius

h isthe height

Given the following parameters

h = 15in

r = 6in

substitute

V =  6^2 * 15π
V  = 540 π cubic inches

Hence the volume of a cylinder that has a radius of 6 inches and is 15 inches tall is 540 π cubic inches

Solve using substitution method x-y=11;3x+10y=-6<br> explain please
Tatiana [17]
Ok so for starters you want to choose an equation and solve for a variable.
So, I am going to choose x from the first equation.
Add y to both sides and you get x=11+y
Next, substitute 11+y for x in the other equation so you get...
2(11+y) +10y=-6
Next distribute the 2 throug the 11 and the y
22+2y+10y=-6
12y=-28
y=-28/12
reduce this fraction to make this easier.
y=-7/3
Now plug in why to either of the equations to find x
x-(-7/3)=11
x+7/3=11
x=11-(7/3)
x=(33/3)-(7/3)
x=26/3
so x = 26/3 and y = -7/3
you can also check to see if this is correct by substituting each of these values into the equations.

A school group wants to rent part of a bowling alley to have a party. The bowling alley costs $500 to rent, plus an additional c
Firlakuza [10]

Answer:

If there are N students, the total cost will be:

C(N) = $500 + $5*N.

And we want the amount that each student pays to be equal or less than $15.

then:

C(N)/N ≤ $15.

Then the inequality that represents this situation is:

($500 + $5*N)/N ≤ $15.

Now, let's solve this:

($500 + $5*N) ≤ $15*N

$500 ≤ $15*N - $5*N

$500 ≤ $10*N

$500/$10 ≤ N

50 ≤ N

So the minimum number of students needed is 50.
