The sun light is white in colour. When white light passes through the earth's atmosphere the gases and dust particles present in it make the white light scatter in all directions. The white light is then divided into VIBGYOR. among these seven colours red has the maximum wavelength and blue color has the least. So, blue is scattered most compared to red and the sky looks blue.
