Why did the United States give control of the Panama Canal to Panama?
inn [45]
The correct answer here is the second option.

When the US helped the Panamanian people win their independence from Columbia they got the rights to build and operate the Panama Canal in perpetuity. But Panamanian people had no say in this and thus over time they wanted it back. After the riots, which were also presumably instigated by the soviet agitators, the conflict arose between Panama and the US. So, because of the riots a new deal was made.

Which 1938 event marked the beginning of a national pogrom against Jewish people in Nazi Germany?
12345 [234]

Answer:

Kristallnacht

Explanation

Kristallnacht or the Night of Broken Glass, also called the November Pogrom(s),  was a pogrom against Jews carried out by SA paramilitary forces and civilians throughout Nazi Germany on 9–10 November 1938. The German authorities looked on without intervening. The name Kristallnacht comes from the shards of broken glass that littered the streets after the windows of Jewish-owned stores, buildings and synagogues were smashed. The pretext for the attacks was the assassination of the German diplomat Ernst vom Rath by Herschel Grynszpan, a 17-year-old German-born Polish Jew living in Paris.
