The doctrine of prior restraint says that the government cannot prevent speech or publication __________.

The government cannot prevent speech or publication before it happens (except in extreme cases).

"Prior restraint" means that the government cannot prevent or prohibit speech (or publication of something before it can be published), unless the content clearly can be shown to present an identifiable danger to public safety.

For the government to take such measures--blocking a form of speech or communication before it is allowed to happen--the form of speech must be such that it would clearly pose a threat of extreme danger to the community -- or might cause severe risks to national security. An example of the second sort of "prior restraint" claim happened in 1971, when the US government tried to block the New York Times and the Washington Post from publishing classified documents which were known as "The Pentagon Papers," regarding government handling of the Vietnam War. In that case, the Supreme Court decided, in New York Times Company v. United States, that the government's concern for security did not override the 1st Amendment rights of the news media to publish the information which they had received. The Court did not agree that the release of the government information would cause inevitable, specific, immediate danger to the United States. So you can see, proving the need for "prior restraint" is a very high bar to get across, and 1st Amendment rights usually prevail.

The doctrine of prior restraint says that the government cannot prevent speech or publication of specific document/s. Prior restraint is imposed by the government on its people prohibiting them of instances for expression. Expression could be in the form of written works, made films, or works of art. The Doctrine prohibits such actions and is giving the people the right to expression, especially in democratic forms of government.

Which is the best explanation for the treatment of Native Americans following the American Revolution?
vodomira [7]

Answer:

The treatment of Native Americans after the American Revolution was that the new nation did not consider Native Americans to be citizens and moved forward inland expansion without considerations for them. The British and the Americans disregarded the Native Americans in the Peace negotiations.

Explanation:

American Revolution broke the Iroquois confederation. The Oneida tribe helped the Americans in the war against the British. The Mohawks helped and fought for the British. However, the British and Americans betrayed them. The Confederacy broken, prestige, and lost power. The America military in revenge for Iroquois help of the British attacked the lands of the Seneca, the Cayuga, and the Mohawks. The orchards were expurgated, fields flattened and the land occupied. The culture that had generated the democratic state of the Iroquois was harmed.

• The Native American communities on both sides were badly treated in diplomatic determinations from both sides. This was because of their lack of representation.

• The Creek Native American and the Cherokee tribes were amid those to join the British.

• England sworn the Native Americans land if they struggled with them.

• Four of the six Iroquois tribes struggled for the British while the other two struggled for the Americans.

• In spite of being a huge assistance to the British, the Native Americans were never embodied in the military and political determinations.

• A lot of land of The Native Americans were lost to the Americans after their triumph. This distorted their whole lifestyles as they were repeatedly pressed westward.

• Most Native American communities thought that independence of America would be a greater danger to their way of life than American colonial.
