The doctrine of prior restraint says that the government cannot prevent speech or publication __________.

The government cannot prevent speech or publication before it happens (except in extreme cases).

"Prior restraint" means that the government cannot prevent or prohibit speech (or publication of something before it can be published), unless the content clearly can be shown to present an identifiable danger to public safety.

For the government to take such measures--blocking a form of speech or communication before it is allowed to happen--the form of speech must be such that it would clearly pose a threat of extreme danger to the community -- or might cause severe risks to national security. An example of the second sort of "prior restraint" claim happened in 1971, when the US government tried to block the New York Times and the Washington Post from publishing classified documents which were known as "The Pentagon Papers," regarding government handling of the Vietnam War. In that case, the Supreme Court decided, in New York Times Company v. United States, that the government's concern for security did not override the 1st Amendment rights of the news media to publish the information which they had received. The Court did not agree that the release of the government information would cause inevitable, specific, immediate danger to the United States. So you can see, proving the need for "prior restraint" is a very high bar to get across, and 1st Amendment rights usually prevail.

The doctrine of prior restraint says that the government cannot prevent speech or publication of specific document/s. Prior restraint is imposed by the government on its people prohibiting them of instances for expression. Expression could be in the form of written works, made films, or works of art. The Doctrine prohibits such actions and is giving the people the right to expression, especially in democratic forms of government.

How is the decline of the American buffalo linked to the development of the Dust Bowl in this passage? A. Buffalo stampedes flat
Musya8 [376]

Answer:

The decline of the American buffalo is linked to the development of the Dust Bowl in this passage because:

B Buffalo had helped fertilize the prairie grasses.

Explanation:

To understand this answer we need to analyze the context. First of all the Dust Bowl is the name given to identify the drought in a certain region called the dust bowl. It was composed of regions from Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Kansas. And it happened because of the overexploitation of the environment. The farmers changed the ecosystem by transforming the majority of the land in the zone into agricultural land. Also, they killed the animals in the zone. Including buffalos, which they hunted until they were seen in small groups. Even though these animals helped the ecosystem to be balanced.

What was powaski’s interpretation about the origins of the Cold War.
RUDIKE [14]

Answer:

The traditional or orthodox interpretation attributes responsibility for the Cold War to the Soviet Union. Writing primarily from the viewpoint of the 1950s and 1960s, historians cited Soviet ideology and aggression as the primary factors responsible for igniting the conflict. American leaders, faced with communist aggression in Europe and Asia, had no choice but to stand firm against Soviet belligerence.
