The ABC Corporation is considering introducing a new product, which will require buying new equipment for a monthly payment of $
scZoUnD [109]

Answer:

5500 units per month must be sold to earn the required profit

Explanation:

The target profit is the amount of profit that a business wants to earn. To calculate the target profit, we can use the break even analysis and include the factor for target profit under its formula and calculate the units and the dollar sales needed to earn the target profit.

In this case, the target profit is $50000 per month.

The break even in units = Fixed cost / contribution margin per unit

Contribution margin per unit = selling price per unit - variable cost per unit

To calculate units required for target profit, we will add the target profit to the fixed cost and divide by the contribution margin per unit

Target profit units = (fixed cost + target profit) / Contribution margin per unit

So,

Contribution margin per unit = 20 - 10 = $10 per unit

Target profit units = (5000 + 50000) / 10

Target profit units = 5500 units per month

Total Costs (dollars)
Andrei [34K]

The appropriate labels for Curves N and M in the nearby graph is that the Curve N is total cost and Curve M is total variable cost.

Why is the curve as stated about?

Because a fixed cost is constant, this is not shown on the graph, however, the movement of the variable cost impacts directly on the total cost as well but it will be higher.

Hence, the appropriate labels for Curves N and M in the nearby graph is that the Curve N is total cost and Curve M is total variable cost.

Therefore, the Option C is correct.

In competitive markets, a surplus or shortage will select one:
Andrej [43]

Answer: c.

In a competitive market, there are many producers competing to provide consumers the products they needed and thus they cannot dictate prices.

If a surplus occurs, there is an excess of quantity supplied and since producers won't be able to sell all their products, they tend or are forced to lower their price.

The reverse happens when there is a shortage. When there is less supply in the market, price increases.

Surplus and shortage in a competitive market, therefore, will cause shifts in the demand and supply curves that tend to eliminate the surplus or shortage.
