Answer: But Moses told them that God would help them. God ordered Moses to stretch out his staff over the Red Sea, and the sea parted. This allowed the Israelites to escape across the sea, and away from Egypt unharmed. Meanwhile, the Pharaoh and his army followed them by charging into the sea.
God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: `I AM has sent me to you. '" God also said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites, `The LORD, the God of your fathers the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob--has sent me to you. For a time, the Lord also sent quail for the Israelites to eat. In the morning they picked up manna, and in the evening they gathered quail. The Lord wanted the Israelites to learn to trust Him. In this way, He took care of them in the wilderness.
