Answer:

The street that was once dry and grey, has now turned wet and dark. The yellow lines on the street look shiny, like if you walked on them you would slip. Cars run over the puddles which splashes the sidewalks. It smells new, as if this place had never been inhabited before, but you know that it has, since there are cities and cars and roadways everywhere.

Explanation:

I think i made it a litle more poetic than it had to be but oh well

Which two parts of this excerpt from William Dean Howells's "Editha" idealize patriotism? "George: I understood—when you left me
LekaFEV [45]

Answer: The right answers are:

Excerpt 1: "But the man I marry must love his country first of all, and be able to say to me [...]."

Excerpt 2: "There is no honor above America with me. In this great hour there is no other honor."

Explanation: Just to elaborate a little on the answer, it can be added that, in these lines, the character of Editha is clearly expressing and idealizing her patriotism. She is writing a letter to her boyfriend, George, who, in order to win her love, must become a hero and fight for his country in the war. In these parts of the letter she is strongly putting forth her adamant conviction in, and fervent devotion to, her country.

Why is it important for people to plant roots?
laila [671]

Answer: Roots are very important for the plant because they suck the water and nutrients up out of the soil and into the plant. But the roots are not only good for the plant, they are good for soil. When it rains, the roots hold the soil in place so it is not washed away. When soil gets washed away it is called erosion.

Why are thankful for your teacher? Explain 3 complete sentence not bold points
ruslelena [56]

Answer:

All the little things teachers do aren't really little things. ... There are lots of reasons to be thankful for teachers: their support, their kindness, their ability to teach kids, and of course, their dedication. In fact, not everyone is aware of the more unusual efforts teachers make for their students.
