Taking the context into consideration, we can complete the sentence in the following manner:

- The ailing young woman is often frustrated because, although she knows her debilitation is not her fault, she still feels guilty about her lassitude.

 • In order to complete the sentence, we must first look for context clues in it that may help us understand what words should be used.
 • The sentence mentions an ailing young woman. When we look up the meaning of "ailing", we find it refers to being in poor health.
 • Therefore, we can assume the rest of the sentence will keep on talking about health issues.
 • With that in mind, the best answers are "debilitation" and "lassitude" (the fourth option).
 • "Debilitation" is the process of reducing the strength of something or someone.
 • "Lassitude" refers to a state of lack of strength or energy.

Can someone proof read this and see if I need to make any additions or revisions?
Debora [2.8K]

It's a very interesting read. Just be sure that if you use any of the author's words, quotes or passages that you place quotation marks at the beginning of the quote, passage, or words " if your using your own words in that same quote be sure to use the blocks like this [ ] to show your teacher/professor that is your own words not from the author's. Also be sure to also end the quote, passage or words with another quotation mark like so " and add the authors last name right after the quotation mark then add the period. If required ( and most times it is) be sure to include a work cited page on a page of it's own, show the title. the author the date it was published where you got the information from, when you accessed the page and it's http website address. That's the MLA format I learned during my english college classes. There are some great website's to show how to do both MLA and APA formats

Which sentence uses the best verb mood to persuade readers? This lecture could be fascinating, so you should go, because it migh
Georgia [21]

Answer:

B). This lecture will be fascinating, so get your tickets before they disappear!

Explanation:

The sentence that best employs the verb mood to convince the audience to go and buy tickets at their earliest is displayed in option B. Mood of the verb is very much crucial to deliver the intended meaning to the audience and evoke desired reactions or response from them. Thus, option B effectively influences the audience by exciting them that the lecture would be 'fascinating' and persuade them to buy the tickets. The author intentionally and positively adds a sign to buy them(tickets) quickly by the inclusion of phrase (before they disappear), as it offers an indication. Thus, option B positively uses the verb mood which persuades the readers.
