-Building blocks are the fundamentals to an overall result, in this case being the characteristics of a human being.

-This is related to genes as the variety of building blocks can make a completely different "outcome" just as a different gene can trigger a different characteristic.

- Without different building blocks, all outcomes will be the same, just as humans. So a variety of "building blocks" are needed for diversity.
