the Land Run of the late 1800s, how statehood impacted Native Americans living in Oklahoma, race relations in Oklahoma during the 1920s, or how the Great Depression impacted the state. Explain how the Reformation led to political conflict and warfare during the 1500s.
bixtya [17]
Many believed the Church needed to be reformed. In the 1500s Kings such as Charles V had a sole political strategy: centralisation. This 'centralisation' included forming one State religion throughout the empire. However followers of Calvin and Luther (generally Protestants) were not very pleased with this. God was in their eyes more important than the sovereign. A King strenghtening his centralisation policy of setting Catholicism as the sole religion, consequently sparked political conflicts in the empire as well. For example, the area what we nowadays call Germany existed in that time from seperate semi-sovereign areas headed by a so-called 'elector'. Electors chose the ruling emperor/king. In 1555 the Peace of Augsburg was signed as a direct effect of the wars between the ultimate sovereign and the semi-sovereign electors. Charles V agreed upon the division of religion within his empire ("cuius regio, eius religio"): the ruler dictated the religion of the ruled in the seperate areas that made up the Holy Roman Empire (HRE). So, the reformation led to warfare because of different ideas by the ruler and his people. That led to political conflict mainly because the people also didn't agree with the ruler's centralisation policy.

What societal problem did Karl Marx attempt to address in his manifesto? Choose the best answer. A The exploitation of the poor
NemiM [27]

Answer:

A, The exploitation of the poor by the rich.

Explanation:

Karl Heinrich Marx (1818 - 83) is a German social philosopher. In 1845 he went to Brussels, joined the Socialist League of the just in 1847, later renamed the Communist League, and in conjunction with Engels wrote for it the communist manifesto (1848). He envisaged a global political and social revolution as a result of the conflict between the working classes and the capitalists, who used the state to enforce their own dominance. His goal was to unite all workers in order to achieve political power. Marx's theories were developed at length in Das Kapital (1867; ed. by Engels) and inspired the communist movements of the 20th century. At the heart of Marxism lies the materialist conception of history, according to which the development of all human societies is ultimately determined by the methods of production that people adopt to meet their needs.

What did John Hay try to accomplish by proposing the Open Door Policy?
RSB [31]

Answer:

making China an important trade partner

Explanation:

In late 19th century, many western countries fight for the exclusive rights to trade with China.

Since the reward was very lucrative, the western countries were willing to go into an all out war with one another for the exclusive rights.

To prevent this, John Hay proposed an open door policy. This policy allowed colonial powers to trade with China on equal terms so all of them can get some benefits from trading relationship with China. This policy effectively made china became an important trade partner for many Western countries.
