[First one, aka #8] c

- subtract 7x from both sides

- divide by 5

- slope is m is y = mx + b

[Second one, aka #7] is d

- subtract 2x from both sides

- divide by 5

- find the negative reciprocal

[Third one, aka #6] is c

- will have a slope of 2 since it is parallel

- plug the point into y = 2x + b and solve for b

[Fourth one, aka #9] is a

- change in d over change in c

- 29 - 20 / 6 - 0 = 9/6 = 3/2

[Fifth one, aka #10] is b

- I created the system:

2h + m = 2.85

3h + 2m = 4.45

- Because he had two hotdogs (2h) and one milk (m), and then 3 hotdogs (3h) and 2 milk (2m) so option b matches the best

Have a nice day!

I hope this is what you are looking for, but if not - comment! I will edit and update my answer accordingly. (ノ^∇^)

F(x) = 9 − x2, x < 3 x − 3, x ≥ 3
liberstina [14]

The table of the function is;

x      f(x)

1       8

2      5

3      0

4      1

5      2

<h3>What are the output values of the x-variables?</h3>

Given the piecewise functions;

           9 - x²,      x < 3

f(x) = {

          x - 3,       x ≥ 3

For x = 1, since 1 is less than 3, we use the piece of the function under x<3

f(x) = 9 - x²

f(1) = 9 - (1)²

f(1) = 9 - 1

f(1) = 8

Hence, we have a point ( 1,8 )

For x = 2, since 2 is less than 3, we use the piece of the function under x<3

f(x) = 9 - x²

f(2) = 9 - (2)²

f(2) = 9 - 4

f(2) = 5

Hence, we have a point ( 2,5 )

For x = 3, since 3 is greater than or equal to 3, we use the piece of the function under x≥3

f(x) =  x - 3

f(3) =  (3) - 3

f(3) = 3 - 3

f(3) = 0

Hence, we have a point ( 3,0 )

For x = 4, since 4 is greater than 3, we use the piece of the function under x≥3

f(x) =  x - 3

f(4) =  (4) - 3

f(4) = 4 - 3

f(4) = 1

Hence, we have a point ( 4,1 )

For x = 5, since 5 is greater than 3, we use the piece of the function under x≥3

f(x) =  x - 3

f(5) =  (5) - 3

f(5) = 5 - 3

f(5) = 2

Hence, we have a point ( 3,2 )

Therefore, the table of the function is;

x      f(x)

1       8

2      5

3      0

4      1

5      2

What are some key words used to note addition operations?
djverab [1.8K]

Answer:

<em>T</em><em>h</em><em>e</em><em> </em><em>c</em><em>o</em><em>r</em><em>r</em><em>e</em><em>c</em><em>t</em><em> </em><em>a</em><em>n</em><em>s</em><em>w</em><em>e</em><em>r</em><em> </em><em>i</em><em>s</em>

<em>For addition, Caulleen used the words total, sum, altogether, and increase. But we could also have used the words combine, plus, more than, or even just the word "and". For subtraction, Caulleen used the words, fewer than, decrease, take away, and subtract. We also could have used less than, minus, and difference.</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<em><u>h</u></em><em><u>o</u></em><em><u>p</u></em><em><u>e</u></em><em><u> </u></em><em><u>t</u></em><em><u>h</u></em><em><u>i</u></em><em><u>s</u></em><em><u> </u></em><em><u>h</u></em><em><u>e</u></em><em><u>l</u></em><em><u>p</u></em><em><u>s</u></em><em><u> </u></em><em><u>u</u></em><em><u>!</u></em><em><u>!</u></em><em><u>!</u></em>

Jan needed to empty 18 gallons of water from a bath tub into jugs that hold 0.5 Gallons of water. How many jugs did Jan need?
bezimeni [28]
Number of jugs required to hold 18 gallons of water = 18/0.5
                                                                                   = 36
So 36 jugs are required by Jan to empty 18 gallons of water.

Plsss answer the following.
IRINA_888 [86]

First exercise:

a. The first prime numbers are 2,3,5,7,11,... So, the greatest prime interger between 4 and 9 is 7. A = 7.

b. Since the number line's growing direction is rightwards, going to the left means to decrease. So, point E is 4 less than point A, i.e. 7-4 = 3. E = 3.

c. The additive inverse of a number x is another number y such that x+y=0. So, we're looking form a number such that 3+O=0, and thus O = - 3.

d. This point looks a bit ambiguous to me honestly. We know that IO = 2, which I presume means that the points I and O are two units apart, but we're not told if I is two units left or right with respect to O. To solve this issue, I'm assuming that IO implies that I sits before O, and so I is two units left with respect to O. As we said in point a., two units left means two less, so we have I = -3-2 = -5. At this point, point L is halfway between -5 and -3, and thus L = - 4.

e. The sum of the coordinates of A and E is 7 + 3 = 10. Half that sum is 5, so M = 5.

In the attached image, you can see the number line filled with the points asked by the exercise.

Second exercise:

All the requests can be written as an equation in which we look for the values of x. Below you find the equation and the solutions.

107 + x = 55 \implies x = 55-107 = -52

-43 - x = 18 \implies x = -43-18 = -61

-43 - x = 18 \implies x = -43-18 = -61

55x = 0 \implies x = \frac{0}{55} = 0

\frac{x}{-1080} = -40 \implies x = (-1080)(-40) = 43200

A little side note: I've honestly never met the expression "subtract A to B", but always "subtract A from B". I assumed they mean the same thing, but if anybody thinks I'm wrong please let me know! (I'm not a native speaker, so I can only refer to the math I met during my studies).
