Emily and Charlie are 1-year-old twins. Their parents thought it would be fun to have a portrait taken of their young children w

ith Santa Claus. Both parents are close by as their twins are placed on Santa's lap, but Emily and Charlie are very unhappy about the entire experience and show their alarm with tears and cries. Why?

The twins are exhibiting stranger wariness. It is also referred to as stranger anxiety. It peaks at 6-2 months age. Stranger wariness is the fear of people with whom the baby is unfamiliar. It is a normal reaction of babies to strangers.
